Melrose Park has proved a hit with first home buyers keen to enter the new apartment market, with 1,000 apartments now sold. Stage three of the project Pulse and Pavilion, which includes 156 apartments, is sold out.

The $5 billion project, bordered by Wharf Rd, Hughes Ave and Hope St, will become a mini suburb when completed with 5,000 homes, a commercial and retail town centre and extensive parklands. It is a key piece in the plan to boost housing supply in the north-west of Sydney.

Boston Project’s Rhys Morgan, who has been selling the project since inception on behalf of Sekisui House Australia, said Melrose Park North was attracting strong interest from first home buyers keen to get their foot in at an affordable price.

“For young buyers looking to work from home more into the future, the latest stage, Melrose Park Village has it all, with business workspaces, wellness facilities and a large internal private park,’’ he said.

“There is a lot of strength in the apartment market, with limited stock, with many people, including first home buyers still struggling to get into the market.

“Melrose Park Village offers an excellent option.’’

Mr Morgan said about 60 per cent of the 1,000 apartments were sold to first homebuyers.

The project was launched with the award-winning One Melrose during a downturn in the apartment property market in 2017.

The buyer feedback includes:

  • Well-priced apartments with high quality fit-out and build.
  • Good investment option, with major government projects underway.
  • Excellent public transport connections.
  • Extensive recreation facilities and plans for a new Town Centre.
  • Highly experienced and trusted builders and developer.

Sekisui House Australia CEO, Apartment and Mixed-Use Developments Hide Seguchi said the project sales has exceeded all expectations.

“One thousand apartments sold is a remarkable result,’’ said Mr Seguchi.

“This project really does epitomise the Sekisui House philosophy of building a well-designed and finished apartment but also a happy and healthy place to live.

“The large internal park is a feature of the latest stage, and I am not surprised it is attracting strong sales from buyers, including first home buyers.”
