The good news for home buyers continues following the Federal Government’s announcement that it is extending its HomeBuilder grant programme into the new year.
For all eligible home building contracts signed between 1 January and 31 March 2021, owner-occupiers can take advantage of a new $15,000 cash grant.
In addition, the government has announced that deadlines have been extended for grant applications and construction commencement timeframes.
Those submitting applications for both the new $15,000 HomeBuilder grant and the existing $25,000 HomeBuilder grant, which is eligible for contracts signed on or before 31 December 2020, now have until 14 April 2021 to apply for the grants.
The construction commencement timeframe for eligible contracts has been extended from three months to six months and is applicable to all contracts entered into on or after 4 June 2020.
It’s a further win for Queensland first home buyers who can take advantage of the Queensland Government’s $15,000 First Home Owner’s Grant. When combined with the HomeBuilder grant, those building their new dream home can access $40,000 in grants if signing a contract before 30 December 2020, or $30,000 between 1 January and 31 March 2021.
