Sekisui House reaches major Australian milestone- commencement of the 100th SHAWOOD home

Sekisui House has marked a major milestone with the commencement of its 100th SHAWOOD home in their masterplanned community, The Hermitage at Gledswood Hills.

SHAWOOD Homes benefit from decades of building expertise that Sekisui House has fine-tuned over 50 years. Since its launch in Japan in 1995, Sekisui House has built more than 50,000 SHAWOOD homes globally.
Toru Abe, CEO and Managing Director at Sekisui House Australia said, “Our market research indicated in the very early stages that Australia had the potential to adopt and perhaps in time, demand a higher level of performance and quality in mainstream new home building.

“It was clear that energy efficiency and thermal comfort would continue to be pushed by policy makers and for good reason, particularly given the current turn of events in terms of housing affordability and level of energy consumption charges. The SHAWOOD homes product is one of Australia’s market leaders in these areas.”

2018 will see the introduction of several new SHAWOOD designs into the Sydney market. Japanese organic design principles and leading integrated housing technologies underpin every SHAWOOD home. With a focus on richness of experience and attention to detail, light filled flowing interiors, architectural exposed timber beams and considered indoor/outdoor connectivity are a paramount outcome within each design; a proprietary metal joint and laminated post and beam construction system creates large uninterrupted spans and double height voids, optimising views, light and function.

SHAWOOD complete designer homes are now exclusively available from $635,000 at The Hermitage, Gledswood Hills, a vibrant masterplanned community located in Sydney’s fast growing South West.    

The Hermitage is a 320 hectare masterplanned community that will eventually comprise over 2,000 new dwellings.
