Sekisui House is pleased to announce that the company’s technologically advanced, pre-engineered SHAWOOD Homes are now available for purchase in multiple locations across Sydney’s metropolitan regions.

SHAWOOD benefits from decades of building expertise that Sekisui House has fine-tuned for almost 60 years, delivering 2.4 million dwellings globally. Sekisui House has built more than 72,000 SHAWOOD homes since its launch in 1995.

Craig D’Costa, General Manager at Sekisui House Australia said, “This is a significant milestone not only for Sekisui House, but for discerning purchasers in search of a genuine alternative to what has long been a market dominated by ‘typical’ volume home design and construction methods.

“A SHAWOOD home is anything but ‘typical’ and is unique from its foundation structural frame through to its highly considered and purposefully designed interior. We first introduced SHAWOOD Homes to the Australian market as a completed turn-key product in 2014, exclusively available at The Hermitage, Gledswood Hills. Australia remains the only location in the world outside Japan that a SHAWOOD home can be purchased.

He added, “Bringing decades of experience in Japan to Australia, SHAWOOD is resetting the standard for volume home building in this country by combining the very best in organic design principles and pre-engineered precision, all within millimetre construction accuracy and consistent levels of comfort performance.”

“We are obsessed with delivering a complete richness of experience and attention to detail in every design. Particular focus is evident with light filled flowing interiors, architecturally exposed timber beams and indoor/outdoor connectivity are typical elements in every SHAWOOD home,” Mr D’Çosta added.

“Sekisui House’s proprietary metal joint and laminated post and beam construction system affords us the ability to create large uninterrupted spans, with feature voids and raked ceilings that are of high aesthetic value, without the price tag of conventional volume construction methods.”

Sekisui House will be releasing several new designs targeted towards first home buyers and investors in 2020. These designs will inherently carry all the design features akin to a SHAWOOD home, however can be purchased in locations across metropolitan Sydney and offered as a split contract house and land package or built on vacant land already owned by prospective clients.
