On Saturday, 10th December, Sekisui House spread the Christmas cheer to more than 200 children when Santa Claus himself arrived by helicopter at masterplanned community, The Hermitage at Gledswood Hills.
Children and parents equally enjoyed the excitement of Santa’s arrival, who greeted waiting youngsters before residents settled down to an evening’s entertainment under the stars. This included a complimentary professional Santa snap in “Santa’s Grotto,” a free screening of the festive animated film, “The Polar Express,” on a giant inflatable screen and, of course, Christmas gifts for the kids.
Eight year-old, Ayva Worlledge, of Gledswood Hills, said: “I loved it when he arrived in the helicopter, everyone was screaming ‘Santa!’ …It was very, very cool.”
Parent, Karyn Worlledge, said: “We love that there is such a community presence. Events like this, it’s really neighbourly. We’ve made so many friends since we’ve moved here. Love it.”
Craig Barnes is Estate Sales & Customer Relations Manager for Sekisui House: “Christmas is a special time for everyone at Sekisui House. It brings us great joy to be able to give back to our growing community at The Hermitage with unique events such as this. Seeing the smiles on kids’ faces when Santa arrived via helicopter certainly made our day.”
When asked about her favourite part of Christmas, Ayva said she is looking forward to “spending time with my family, because I just like to see them be happy and open their presents.”
