The strength of the Sydney property market was evident over the weekend at Gledswood Hills in Sydney’s south west, with residential developer Sekisui House’s live land auction event resulting in a 100% clearance rate.

The latest offering at Lakeside, Gledswood Hills, comprised of 26 premium land lots, all enjoying an absolute golf frontage position with stunning views over the neighbouring fairways and greens of the premier Lakeside Golf Course.

The lots were in extremely high demand, with over 150 registered bidders attending Saturday’s auction. Celebrated auctioneer Damien Cooley of Cooley Auctions presided over the event in which 26 lots were sold in less than 70 minutes via live and online bidding, surpassing reserve prices by an average of 26%.

Sekisui House’s previous land release was in 2018, and the last land release sold by auction at Gledswood Hills was in 2015. The weekend’s result is a clear indication of the current heightened demand for prime property, as well as the continued strong aspirations of buyers wanting to live at Gledswood Hills.

General Manager - Sekisui House, Craig D’Costa said “From the level of enquiry throughout the 4-week campaign, we were confident of a strong result. Over 120 bidders pre-registered before auction day, and in the end, we achieved record sales results across the board with one 621sqm property surpassing the $1 million mark,” Mr. D’Costa said.

Young couple Rhiannon Stowers and Jake Strachan, one of the successful purchasers on the day, said that the golf frontage location was the main drawcard for them. Speaking after the auction, Ms. Stowers said, “We sold our investment properties so that we could buy within Lakeside. The golf-side location was the main thing that attracted us. We can see ourselves raising our children here in the future.”

Located within one of the most prestigious and picturesque precincts in Sekisui House’s flagship, Gledswood Hills, Lakeside residents will enjoy uninterrupted frontage onto Lakeside Golf Course allowing spectacular scenic vistas of the course.

Lakeside also offers convenient access to the community’s future retail and entertainment precinct, and a recently opened Gledswood Hills Primary School.

“The precinct offers an unbeatable lifestyle for residents and their families. With public transport, schools, shopping and dining already on the doorstep, Lakeside is also benefitting from booming investment and growth in the wider south-west Sydney area, with new facilities and amenity opening evert month.”

“To date, we have sold over 1,300 properties within Gledswood Hills since the estate was launched in March 2012. We look forward to working closely with these new residents of Lakeside to deliver their new homes,” said Mr. D’Costa.

Residents of Lakeside will enjoy the benefits of living in a well-designed masterplanned estate which incorporates a championship golf course, 40 hectares of open parklands and smaller neighbourhood parks with children’s playgrounds and over 50km of cycle and shared pathways.
