A smarter way to save - Coposit

14 July 2026

Saving a deposit while paying rent and covering everyday expenses is one of the hardest parts of buying a home. Coposit was created to change that. Instead of a full 10% deposit upfront, buyers at The Orchards can secure their new home with a $10,000 deposit and pay it off weekly during construction.

“Coposit was discovered through the challenges buyers faced entering the market. The traditional process meant saving a deposit first, then waiting a few years for a project to be delivered - often a long journey from deciding to buy to picking up your keys,” said Chris Ferris, Managing Director of Coposit.

“We aspired for buyers to use the construction period to build their deposit instead, and it is completely free to use, with no cost to the buyer.”

Several buyers have used Coposit to secure their new home at The Orchards, joining a growing number of purchasers taking advantage of this easier path into the market. Many of them are first home buyers drawn by a faster, more achievable way to get started.

“The national average age of a first home buyer is 37. Within the Coposit platform it is 28 - more than nine years earlier than the national average. Seeing young buyers purchase their first home sooner is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do,” Chris said.

Coposit suits a wide range of purchasers. Around 40 to 45% nationally are first home buyers, a similar share are investors drawn to the cash-flow benefits of weekly payments and roughly 10% are downsizers who prefer to draw down funds gradually rather than sell their existing home first.

Security is central to how Coposit operates. Every buyer goes through a qualification process upfront, checking they can comfortably manage the weekly payments and are on track to reach settlement, giving buyers and Sekisui House Australia confidence in every purchase.

All weekly payments are held in regulated trust accounts until settlement.

“We seek to partner with high-quality developers who understand they are not just building a project but delivering somebody’s home. Sekisui House Australia shares that same focus on a great customer experience, from the first payment through to collecting the keys.”

For buyers who thought home ownership was out of reach, Coposit is opening a new door. “We give hope to people who thought home ownership was not for them and heard many stories from buyers who didn’t think it was possible,” Chris concluded.
