A new chapter on the Lower North Shore: Elizabeth and Stephen’s Waterstone story
27 October 2026
For Liz and Steve Armbrister, becoming empty nesters brought an opportunity to rethink what they needed from their home.
With just the two of them living in their three-storey Castle Cove home, the couple were ready to embrace apartment living. They found their next chapter at Waterstone, purchasing a four-bedroom residence off the plan in Sekisui House’s St Leonards community.
“We’re rattling around a large house in Castle Cove, just the two of us,” Steve says. “Liz found Waterstone, and I was immediately on board.”
For the couple, the appeal of a new lifestyle was matched by their confidence in Sekisui House. Having heard about construction delays experienced by friends, Liz says the company’s global reputation for delivering excellence for more than 60 years helped reassure them.
“Sekisui House had such a fantastic reputation that it really allayed any fears we had about buying off the plan or encountering any potential problems,” she says.
Waterstone combines generous apartment layouts with a leafy Lower North Shore setting. Inspired by Sekisui House’s Japanese Satoyama philosophy, the low-rise community integrates expansive landscaped gardens and shared spaces with amenities including a heated pool, gym and sauna. Nearby transport, shops and dining bring everyday convenience within easy reach.
For Liz and Steve, the purchase marks a move towards a home suited to their next stage of life with four bedrooms offering plenty of space as they transition from their family house.
