How to buy.

SHAWOOD homes are known for delivering simplicity with excellence, and this is also reflected in our clear and easy-to-navigate purchasing process.

Start your journey with our SHAWOOD Sales Representative who will help you determine the home type and location to suit your requirements. At this stage, we welcome you to visit our display homes to gain an understanding of the fixtures, finishes and inclusions of a complete SHAWOOD home. Once you’ve found your dream home, an exclusivity fee of $2,500 will get the ball rolling.

At this milestone, your loan approval will need to be organised with your lending authority, as signing the contract formalises the purchase and you will be required to pay the balance of the 10% deposit. Once your exclusivity fee is received, a contract for sale will be prepared in 24–48 hours for your solicitor or conveyancer. Your solicitor will be in touch to review and sign the contract together.

After the contract has been finalised, a dedicated Customer Relations Representative will be in contact to introduce themselves. They will be in contact consistently to provide updates and answer any questions you may have leading up to settlement.

Once construction is complete on your home, an Occupation Certificate will be issued and Sekisui House will arrange the settlement date with your solicitor – usually 10 business days from receipt of the Occupation Certificate. You’ll need to inform your bank of your settlement date so they can organise the final payment. 

Once the settlement date is booked in, your Customer Relations Representative will arrange to meet you at your new home. Here, we’ll give you a detailed tour of your SHAWOOD home, present you with your keys, and a handover pack containing manuals and warranty information for your beautiful new home.
