Central Park takes shape as landmark playground nears completion
08 September 2026
Exciting progress is continuing at Central Park, with construction advancing rapidly and the park's signature playground equipment now taking centre stage.
Spanning approximately two hectares, Central Park will become the green heart of the precinct, providing residents with a new destination to relax, play, connect and enjoy the outdoors.
Major works across Central Park, including footpaths, concrete seating areas and cobblestone paving, are now approximately 80% complete
Installation of the playground equipment is also nearing completion, including the bespoke Mangrove Tower, a key feature of the new play space.
The park's landscape transformation will continue in the coming months, with the remaining trees, turf and understorey planting set to commence from late September through to the end of October.
Once complete, the feature playground will provide a unique and engaging destination for families and children of all ages.
The park has been designed as a central gathering place within Melrose Park, complementing the new town centre, schools, residential neighbourhoods and broader network of open spaces across the precinct.
As construction continues, the community can look forward to seeing the park rapidly evolve throughout the remainder of the year, with completion targeted for the end of November 2026.
