Meet the Makers: Miele

05 October 2022

Earlier this month to coincide with our first residents moving into their Norman Estates homes in Gledswood Hills, Sydney, Sekisui House Australia is proud to present a Meet the Makers series to spotlight the quality and expertise that has formed the foundation of each residence.

Sekisui House partnered with high-end home appliance manufacturer Miele to provide an enhancement option with a selection of premium appliances included in the “By You” upgrade package within its luxury SHAWOOD home offering at Norman Estates.

To kick off the series and celebrate our partnership with Miele, we sat down with Alice Byrne, Business Development Manager Project & Homebuilders, at Miele Australia. Alice shared some of the synergies between Miele and SHAWOOD, and how the partnership came to life at an exclusive dinner in one of the completed homes. A group of Norman Estates residents were invited to meet their neighbours over a delicious meal prepared using Miele appliances, whilst they learned more about the products that are included within their new homes.

Alice shared, “Starting off in the kitchen and ending up in the laundry, we brought a personal touch to each home in a way that complements the premium lifestyle that Norman Estates encapsulates. Miele supports Norman Estates’ philosophy of lifestyle, luxury and design which is evident in the final product of the homes. Both SHAWOOD and Miele have gone above and beyond in delivering reliable, ahead of its time products that have been carefully selected to align with the specific requirements of each home.”

In late 2021, SHAWOOD approached Miele to collaborate on bringing its premium vision for Norman Estates to life. Hand pick products from its state-of-the-art kitchen and laundry range for its luxury homes, and to align on the overarching vision for the development. SHAWOOD and Miele worked closely together to understand the homeowners’ specific household needs and identify the products best suited to each home.

We consider the kitchen to be ‘heart of the home’ and prides itself on the innovation that goes into the development of contemporary kitchens. Elegance and above all, practicality for the homeowner is essential. Upon the team at SHAWOOD providing insights around the importance of entertaining for its homeowners, Miele installed a 90cm oven to offer larger capacity for larger families and entertaining. Additionally, included is a steam oven, a microwave with 90cm cooktop, a fully integrated fridge and a dishwasher to provide an all-encompassing, seamless cooking experience start to finish for residents.

We are extremely proud of our partnership with SHAWOOD in bringing to life the premium vision for Norman Estates and its homeowners. The entire process was meaningful from planning to implementation, and it was of utmost importance that we offered appliances that worked best for each home and the residents within them from both a practical and luxury standpoint,” Alice added.

Norman Estates is the highly anticipated Australian-first partnership between renowned golfing legend and businessman, Greg Norman and Sekisui House. The $300 million masterplanned development will include 190 freestanding and terrace homes once complete, bringing Sekisui House’s premier SHAWOOD home design, construction, and proprietary technology together with the global luxury lifestyle philosophy of Norman Estates. Over one third of completed and under construction residences have now been sold, with a range of under construction and spec homes still available.

Scott Rudgley, Sales Director for Residential Communities & Home Building at Sekisui House Australia, said: “For the past seven years, Sekisui House has been working with Greg Norman to deliver Australia’s first Norman Estates development and so we are beyond excited to see our vision come to fruition, with residents starting to move in. It has been a pleasure working with our premium partners who have been instrumental in offering homes that live up to Norman Estates’ philosophy of lifestyle, luxury and design.”
