Sekisui House sponsors annual Sydney Hills Lunar Festival 2017

31 January 2017

Sydney’s Chinese New Year celebration is the largest outside of mainland China. This year Sekisui House was proud to be the Gold Partner sponsor of the annual Sydney Hills Lunar Festival 2017 held on Sunday, 29 January.

And what a day it was! Hosted for the first time in its new location at Bella Vista Farm in Sydney’s Norwest, this year’s spectacular festival surpassed expectations attracting 10,000 people with its fusion of flavours, cultures and traditions to welcome in the Year of the Rooster.

Sydney’s most popular food trucks converged on Bella Vista Farm with fireworks, traditional performances, displays and ancient Lunar New Year rituals such as the ‘dotting of the Lion’s eyes. Visitors were immersed in the unique and vibrant customs of Asia at one of Sydney’s most spectacular lunar celebrations which brings together and celebrates our community’s diverse multi-cultural backgrounds year on year.

“We have a genuine commitment to creating environments that engender a real sense of community, so it’s a privilege to be associated with the Sydney Hills Lunar Festival to celebrate this important calendar event,” said Mr Abe.

The team at Sekisui House stayed busy on the day offering a range of activities that took place in its special marquee including all-day roaming massages provided by corporate and event massage professionals, the ‘3 Minute Angels’. A Facebook competition with the chance to win a $300 Castle Towers gift card was also organised.

“Supporting reputable charities and events within, and for the communities in which we work, is a big part of what we believe in,” said Mr Abe.

The Lunar Festival is a Summer Series event held by the Hills Shire Council.
