The Orchards First Residents Move In
THE ORCHARDS – FIRST RESIDENTS MOVE IN
Sekisui House’s first residents have moved into the company’s new $1 billion masterplanned residential community – The Orchards located in Sydney’s Norwest and spread across 8.8 hectares.
More than 120 residents now reside in stage one’s ‘Imperial’ buildings with over half of the 121 apartments now sold.
Located at 104 Fairway Drive Norwest, The Orchards will comprise one, two, three and four bedroom luxury apartments designed by Turner Architects. They are spread across seven future stages with heights ranging from six, seven, nine and 12 storeys. When completed the community will comprise 1300 generous apartments.
Tania Dias, a 34-year old first home buyer, recently moved into The Orchards. She said, “I grew up in The Hills District and was keen to stay in the area. After looking for six months I found The Orchards.
“It ticked all of my boxes – the finishes are of a very high standard, public transport was close by, my work place at Rosehill is within a 20-minute drive, community living is a focus in the design and it is sustainable development with a great flow intertwining the apartments and natural environment. My new home is everything I had hoped for and more.”
Paul Wainwright, Sales and Marketing Operations Manager for Sekisui House Australia said, “The Orchards has been embraced by local hills district buyers. The oversized apartments, proximity to the new Metro Norwest and nature themed community, designed to reflect its native surroundings has captivated house hunters.
“Owners occupiers predominantly reside in The Orchards including downsizers, empty nesters, young families and first home buyers. We are now in the planning phase of stage two which will comprise 57 luxury apartments overlooking Castle Hill Country Club. It will be our most premium building on the site.”
He added, “The Orchards has set a precedent in the Norwest area with its rare high quality-designer apartments and meticulously designed sustainable masterplanned community. There is simply nothing else like this development in the area. Great connectivity to transport, Norwest Business Park, Castle Hill Country Club, schools and retail precincts further adds to its appeal as a beautiful place to live.
“Underpinning all aspects of the design is the Japanese concept of ‘satoyama’. This term refers to connecting people through ‘ribbons of green’ and is demonstrated in a lush green spine throughout the estate to enrich the lives of residents.”
Set on a nature site with a creek and cycle/walkways, The Orchards will feature recreational amenities including a 1.4 hectare public park, playgrounds, break-out green spaces, lagoon pool and large fitness centre.
The Orchards will also provide a rooftop cinema, café, community function centre, music room and an organic grocer is planned for the development.
Heritage-listed trees intertwine throughout the site. Each of The Orchards three signature buildings reflects an element of the site’s surrounding natural environment, incorporating Strangers Creek, Bunya Pines and native Cumberland woodland trees.
The Orchards will be fitted with one of the world’s largest residential high-rise rooftop solar panel systems. The solar panels, spanning the size of 24 tennis courts across 6,000 sqm, will give the entire community 1 GWh of free solar power every year for use in the common areas and site facilities.
Sekisui House is currently selling a wide mix of apartment product with one-bedroom apartments priced from $599,000 up to $1,900,000 for three-bedroom penthouses.
Some apartments offer smart flexi-rooms to create adaptable spaces accommodating a broad range of uses such as a home study, additional bedroom, storage or larger entertaining area. Generously sized expansive balconies and floor to ceiling windows adds further appeal to the apartments.
The Orchards is located approximately 31 kilometres north-west of Sydney’s CBD and is nestled in The Hills Shire’s newest suburb, Norwest. It is strategically positioned 500 metres from Metro Norwest and 300 metres from Norwest Marketown as well as Norwest Business Park - currently housing over 30,000 employees with projected growth to more than 60,000 employees within next 10 years. Castle Hill Country Club neighbours the site and a new Bella Vista Public School opens in 2019 which is within a short 400 metre walk.
