The Urban Developer Awards 2018

24 September 2018

The inaugural 2018 The Urban Developer awards were held last week where the winners were announced at a gala dinner at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane.

Around 350 of the property industry’s finest were there to celebrate more than 100 finalists across 21 categories from Australia and New Zealand.

Sekisui House was honoured to take out the winner’s prize in two highly competitive categories.

West Village Project Director, Andrew Thompson (centre) accepts the award for Excellence in Marketing.

West Village, a mixed-use masterplanned community in West End, Brisbane was named Winner for Excellence in Marketing. The marketing strategy has thoughtfully paid homage to the historic Peters Ice Cream Factory as the centrepiece of this development. The campaign has included highly successful community events such as the Brisbane Ice Cream Festival, a creative collaboration with artists David and Yuge Bromley of Bromley and Co, and a host of initiatives for locals and the community as a whole.

Connor, jointly developed by Sekisui House and Frasers Property Australia was awarded Development of the Year in High Density Residential. Connor, part of the $2 billion Central Park community in Sydney, was up against some outstanding projects but in the end its elegant design, eco-friendly features, and its position as the architectural gateway to Central Park set it apart. Designed by Smart Design Studio, Connor instantly resonated with the market and all 178 apartments were sold prior to construction beginning.
