West Village releases "Heritage Collection" luxury residences

03 April 2018

West Village at West End, Brisbane is bucking an apartment market trend with the release of six luxury residences – two townhomes and four, three-bedroom executive apartments.

The stand-alone residences will attract strong buyer interest and are currently on the market with Expressions of Interest offers over $1.4 million being considered.

The West Village project, centred around the historic Peters Ice Cream factory and fronting Boundary Street, is one of Brisbane’s most significant and anticipated urban renewal projects.

Construction is underway and expected to be completed late next year on Stage One - two residential buildings, Lexington and Park, and the townhomes.

Stage One will include a wide variety of residential accommodation styles, restaurants and cafes, a full-line supermarket and associated specialty shops, child care, community and art spaces, gymnasium, health and wellbeing precinct and more. When complete, West Village will comprise eight contemporary apartment buildings and nearly one hectare of open space.

Lexington (192 apartments) and Park (137 apartments) are a pair of 14-storey residential buildings on Wilson Street that have sold strongly, with 70% of Park and 35% of Lexington under contract.

But West Village is looking forward to the response to the townhomes and the four spacious apartments in Lexington that, together, are being offered as the “West Village Heritage Collection”.

Project Director Andrew Thompson said the two townhomes would be something “quite different” for Brisbane.

“These luxury homes, at about 260sqm each, will feature two levels of living space - expansive living, dining and kitchen areas and a media room, stunning outdoor courtyards, and three generously-sized bedrooms, including a spa retreat master bathroom suite, all serviced by their own private lift,” Mr Thompson said.

“Importantly for the downsizers who we believe are our target market, the townhomes offer a 30sqm storage room on a separate mezzanine accessible by the lift – somewhere to keep the bikes, kayaks, gym equipment and other necessities of life for active empty nesters.

“Some of the other features will include two side-by-side car parks on the bottom level, direct access onto Wilson Street and lush balconies that blur the indoors and outdoors.

“These homes will combine the privacy of a house with all the excitement and amenity of West Village.”

Mr Thompson said the design of Lexington’s three-bedroom executive apartments was influenced by the classic apartments of pre-war New York “with grand entrance galleries, large bedrooms and grand living rooms”.

“Our four Heritage Collection apartments will be a huge 196sqm and built on levels nine to 12 of Lexington, all north facing with views to the CBD,” Mr Thompson said.

“Each will have a kitchen with walk-in butler’s pantry, library, entrance gallery, super-sized living and dining rooms, ensuites to all bedrooms and a separate media room that opens to a balcony.”

The three-bedroom Heritage Collection apartments will start at $1.56 million.
