West Village wins UDIA President's Award
Sekisui House’s innovative urban renewal project ‘West Village’ has won the top gong at the 2019 UDIA Queensland Awards for Excellence.
West Village by Sekisui House Australia was crowned the best development in the State as the recipient of the President’s Award. The project was selected from the pool of category winners by the Institute’s State President Ian Murray.
Continuing its winning streak, West Village also took home the Urban Renewal, Marketing Excellence, and the Parks and Recreation awards.
Mr Murray said, “West Village – Stage 1 is an example of innovative urban renewal. Blending old buildings with new development, this project has engaged actively with the local community to ensure it delivers spaces that everyone can embrace and enjoy.
“The apartments and commercial spaces delivered to date are of a high quality and a credit to this large scale project that has faced many challenges,” Mr Murray said.
The UDIA Awards acknowledge developers that create inspiring places for Queenslanders to live, work, and play. A total of 21 awards were presented to recognise the diversity of product being delivered.
The rigorous program is conducted over eight months from launch through to the completion of judging. Judges for the awards are experienced industry leaders who visit every site in person as well as review the accompanying written submission.
