Sekisui House

We’ve built ourselves on better. And achieving this has meant having a great respect for talented people who work alongside Sekisui House.

We’ve worked in partnership with other developers, urban designers, architects and engineers on major projects. They share similar thoughts, values and spirit in their approach to residential property development and master planning. Namely, we’ve worked with reliable and substantial partners and organisations, including Frasers Property, LendLease, Payce and HomeWorld.

Collaborating with others continually helps us reach incredible heights in the industry, and to deliver some of our most significant projects. And by creating and maintaining these long-term relationships with likeminded organisations, we’re one step closer to a better offering.

Central Park, New South Wales

Once the site of the Carlton United Brewery in Sydney, the newly developed Central Park is a notable example of Sekisui House partnerships.

Respecting the history of the environment and surroundings, while creating a modern lifestyle precinct for an existing community has taken years of careful planning and meticulous design considerations.

Incorporating apartments, shopping areas, a main park, and an $8 million public art collection, Central Park also boasts 58 hectares of futuristic sustainable architecture, heritage enclaves and lush gardens.

The project has been motivated along by a goal to be the city’s most sustainable urban community, with each building to achieve a minimum 5 green star rating (from the Green Building Council of Australia).

As a whole, this project would have been impossible without collaboration between engineers, artists and the community. Architects and designers from Sydney, London, Paris and Copenhagen came together to realise the vision for Central Park, and it now sits as an ever-growing hub of energy and excitement for the city of Sydney.

Central Park consists of the following complexes:

  • One Central Park
  • DUO at Central Park
  • Connor at Central Park
  • Sky at One Central Park
  • The Mark at Central Park
  • Park Lane at Central Park
  • The STEPS at Central Park
  • UniLodge at Central Park
  • An array of dining, food, fashion and retail outlets

Sky at Central Park

Sky at One Central Park is the name of the uppermost 5 levels of One Central Park East, from levels 29 to 33 rising to 116 metres high, the same height as the UTS tower on the opposite side of Broadway.

Sky at One Central Park floats high above the city with an organic ethos expressed in the vertical gardens which wrap the façade, the hanging gardens that frame the view and the natural textures found in every detail. Interiors by Koichi Takada are sculpted through the use of abundant natural light, expansive views and free-flowing spaces. Natural and sustainable materials such as stone, marble and timber support an organic ambience that flows from room to room.

The building itself is worthy of the global acclaim it has received, yet it is the experience of living in its uppermost levels that offers a select few the greatest reward. Here, one of the world's highest floating gardens, The Sky Garden terrace, is exclusively reserved for residents of Sky.

Day or night, the Sky Garden provides an extraordinary private terrace from which to appreciate magnificent views to the inner harbour, Botany Bay and the Blue Mountains. The Sky Garden rests lightly on a monumental cantilever extending 40m from the facade of One Central Park's East tower. It's an urban oasis high above the city, an expansive terraced deck with jacuzzi, outdoor dining and curvaceous sun loungers, to be enjoyed by the exclusive few.

In November 2014, One Central Park was declared the Best Tall Building Worldwide by the esteemed Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, in Chicago.

Key features of Sky include:
  • Sky Garden - Facing West, the Sky Garden is surely one of the world's highest floating gardens - a private playground exclusively for use by Sky's residents. Arrive at the Sky Garden via a bridge encased in transparent red glass
  • Private Lobby -  An ethereal and curvaceous lobby evokes the sky, taking residents directly to the 29th level and beyond.

One Central Park is built around a beautiful, spacious park, Chippendale Green, that is the heart of the new precinct. More than 6,400 square metres of parks and public spaces welcomes local communities into the heart of Central Park.
